Natto is a typical national food in Japan. People who came to Japan may know, but it is a Japanese food that is not well known worldwide yet. Many Japanese people like natto, and some people eat every day. Because natto is a very healthy food, it can be called Japanese super food.

What kind of food is natto?

Natto is made of soybeans. It is a food that fermented soybean. Because of that, there are slimy and slime is filiform compared to normal soybeans. It is softer because it is fermented soybeans. Because it is very unique, people from overseas may have culture shock. However, it is very delicious food when trying to eat without a weak consciousness.

The history of natto

It is said that natto is a coincidental food. Long ago, when a Japanese samurai got on a horse for warfare and went far away, the bait that the horse had to eat had disappeared, so he said he wants to go to the farmer and feed for the horse. The farmers quickly boiled the soybeans, put them in a bundle of straw and handed them to the samurai. After going on a horse for a while, the samurai opened a bunch of straws to eat the horses, where the soybeans were fermented and a slime appeared. When the samurai ate the fermented soybeans, it was very nice to make natto because it was tasty. This is one theory of the origin of natto.

Types of Natto

Natto has various kinds of soybeans and small soybeans. Natto made from finely ground soybean is called “hikiwari-natto“. This is good for digestion.

How to eat natto

General natto that is sold at a grocery store in Japan has soy sauce sauce and  Japanese mustard, so put in spices as you like. Once these are put in, stir well. As you do so, bubbles and slime will come out from natto at once. It will be completed if a slime appears to some extent. We eat delicious food on rice and eat. Other than that, natto sushi is also popular. Some shops offer curry and rice in ramen.

Because natto is soybean, it is rich in protein. There are “essential amino acids” that human beings can not make in the body. There are nine essential amino acids. Natto contains these nine essential amino acids in good balance. When digesting essential amino acids contained in it, the value of natto is close to the full score without limit. Nattokinase contained in natto

Natto can be done by adhering Natto bacteria to similar soybeans. Bacillus natto contains its own nutrient called nattokinase. Nattokinase is contained in the slime of natto. Nattokinase has blood pressure lowering action, blood flow improving action and platelet aggregation inhibiting action.

Recommended way to eat those who are not good at natto

Natto has its own smell and slime. Especially there are many who are not good at smell. So if you put in a proper amount of ginger that grated on natto smell gets weak, it is easy to eat.
